London Vision West supports people living with sight loss in the boroughs of:
There are over 9,000 people registered as blind or partially sighted with these six local authorities, with many more people living with eye conditions that cause sight loss and affects them on a daily basis. We want people to be able to live independently, make their own choices and enjoy life.
We want people to access support services where and when they need them, take part in activities they like, and build networks to talk about what’s important to them.
We accept that local authority provision is sometimes patchy, so we aim to fill gaps so that people get help in key areas they need assistance this method links back to our key priority areas of early intervention, health and well-being, technology and employment.
London Vision West is working in partnership with organisations like Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authorities and Hospital Trusts to advocate for change for people with sight loss.
There are many existing groups, (see below) but we are also working on a series of engagement events in Brent to hear your views on our key areas, a joined up programme of vision awareness training across Ealing, Hounslow and Brent and new sporting opportunities.
